For those who fancy venturing further afield, the famous Camel Trail cycle path from Padstow to Wadebridge is just 5 miles away and it’s only a short drive to St Eval Karting Circuit, The Japanese Gardens, The Classic Air Force, the zoo and bowling. It’s also only 6 miles to Newquay, making Mawgan Porth a great, laid back base from which to explore the bustling surf beaches and bars of Cornwall’s most famous surf resort, without having to stay with the crowds. Having access to a car here will greatly broaden the scope of the entertainment and natural scenery accessible to you.
Of course, such perfection does mean that prices here tend to be a little higher than surrounding areas, but we firmly believe that in this case you get what you pay for. You can’t go wrong with a holiday rental lodge in Mawgan Porth.

I visited with my husband and 2 teenage boys back in August 2015 - so I'm a bit late in writing this review whoops.
Where to start. We arrived at teatime on a Friday and on arriving at Mawgan Porth the destination, we found the resort really easily. The staff at the main office by the entrance were a bit matter of fact, to be honest, but had our keys ready for us and we found our lodge straightaway.
Everything was as expected and really clean and well laid out. We found our way around the park without any problems and were really happy with all the facilities there - our 13 year old boys wanted time away from their fogey parents and were very happy to hang out solo at the lovely pool and pool bar for most of the time we were there. We didn't use the indoor pool ourselves, but noticed a lot of people seemed to work their way between the outdoor and indoor pools (you can see the indoor pool from the restaurant).
The beach is a short walk from the park, and other local activities (donkey derby and welly wanging competitions!) took place in the fields next door so were again walking distance. The staff in the office restaurant were really friendly and welcoming, the food is lovely and from talking to other guests on our way around the resort, it seems most people are return visitors. As we will be this year - totally love this place and can't recommend it highly enough!
