Quirky, studio-style wooden boathouse which sleeps up to 4 people - perfect for exploring beautiful West Cornwall

Porkellis is perfectly situated for exploring all Cornwall has to offer; it is a quiet country village, surrounded by green fields, yet ideally located for access to both north and south coasts, the busy towns of Helston, Falmouth and Truro and many visitor attractions such as the National Maritime Museum. And, if you enjoy walking the coast path, our property is close to the stunning Lizard Peninsula, which offers some of the most breathtaking coastal landscapes in the country!

Welcome to to Enys Boathouse, a unique holiday situated in the heart of a quiet Cornish village. Our self-catering accommodation is deceptively spacious and comfortably furnished, sleeping up to four people.

Enys Boathouse is a unique wooden structure based on the Bolney Ferry Boathouse on the River Thames. This charming property benefits from its own private terrace with panoramic westerly views out over the countryside.

The boathouse offers versatile self catering accommodation in Cornwall suitable for families, couples or groups of friends. The main living area converts into a double bedroom with a pull down double wall bed, which is hidden in a cabinet when not in use. For smaller children there is the added excitement of sleeping in the Crow’s Nest, a cosy sleeping area with two single beds in the eaves of the property.

At the northern end of The Lizard peninsula in West Cornwall, our holiday lodges in Helston are in a town famed for its annual medieval Furry Dance (Flora Dance to the locals), well positioned just 12 miles from Penzance and 9 miles from Falmouth and in a wonderful position for enjoying the stunning Lizard Peninsula.

Head out from your self-catering holiday lodge in Helston for the day to enjoy the second oldest town in Cornwall where tales of Saxons go back to the 6th century and a charter was granted to the town in 1201. History since then has seen the town prosper as a tin mine and relics of Helston’s dramatic past can be found all around town – as can they be found throughout the Lizard Peninsula.

From your lodge in Helston you may well want to visit the Helston Museum full of historic memories, follow the Helston Town Trail from the Guildhall to learn even more, explore the National Trust Penrose Estate on foot or bicycle, or take a ride on the Helston Railway – an ongoing steamy restoration project. The town also has all the conveniences you need on holiday including two grocery stores and a petrol station.

We’ve found a marvelous selection of lodges for you in Helston and our holiday lettings here make an ideal base for exploring the rich local culture and history, or heading out to other nearby attractions and beaches, including the famous Cornwall surf break at Porthleven, and the beaches at Gunwalloe, Poldhu Cove and Mullion Cove – to name but a few! From here, you’re also only an easy 40 minute drive from Land’s End and all that lies in between.

Perfect little getaway, comfortable and cosy. We will return, Select Cornwall is easy to use.
Roads are a little tricky in the immediate surrounds, but it is rural Cornwall, beautiful!!
Local pub isn't a pub, it's a stunning restaurant.
