Arrr there be pirates! Well… not anymore, but there is a great selection of holiday houses for you to rent in Penzance, and much, much more besides. Steeped in history, the south facing Cornish port of Penzance has so many stories to tell the inquisitive traveler and with one of the mildest climates in the UK, it’s a great place to sit and hear them. You’ll find yourself surrounded by palm trees and sub-tropical plants as you relax in your holiday house in Penzance, or enjoy the fabulous view from the waterfront out to St Michael’s Mount, which appears to float on the water out at sea.

The towns laid back, charming old streets house book shops art galleries, boutique shops, delicious restaurants and other eateries to keep every foodie entertained, along with the famous, wonderfully decorated Egyptian House and the Penlee House Museum. There’s also a great selection of unique pubs such as the Admiral Benbow Inn, loaded with friendly locals and historic memorabilia from Penzance’s remarkable past.

The location of holiday houses in Penzance make it a perfect base for exploring the surrounding holiday areas of Cornwall too, with great road, rail and air links. Some of the country’s best beaches are within a short drive or walk including Lamora Cove, Praa Sands, Kenneggey Sands and Perranuthnoe. Let’s not forget the tropical looking bay at Porthcurno also, a short and worthwhile drive where you’ll discover the launching point of the first ever transatlantic cable and the incredible Minnack Theatre The Minnack Theatre at Porthcurno is an all-time favourite for a day or night out from your Penzance holiday house; carved into the cliff-side and home to incredible matinees and sunset performances all summer – it’s open to visitors all day and offers spectacular views of secluded Porthcurno Bay below, but book ahead early if you want to get seats here for a performance!

Your holiday house in Penzance will also be only around 10 miles from Land’s End and Sennen Cove and in a great place for joining the St. Ives to Penzance (or vice-versa) route of the South West Coast Path. Regular ferries will take you to the Isles of Scilly for a further flung adventure and of course you’re so close to St Michael’s Mount it may be the easiest day out you have in Penzance!

Other attractions include the art deco Jubilee lido swimming pool (open June-August) with great views of the bay, the Savoy Cinema which is great if it happens to rain, and the seafront Victorian Morrab Gardens where you’ll find plants rarely seen anywhere else on UK shores. And of course, grab a Cornish Pasty or Fish and Chips and relax by the sea shore, on your quintessential holiday house holiday in Penzance.

Dola Lane is a very pleasant, comfortable and spacious holiday home ideally situated for a family holiday 10 minutes from Praa Sands and near many other towns and attractions. An upside down property with lovely views of St Michaels Mount from the lounge window and the bay is pretty when it gets dark as the lights of Marazion, Penzance,Newlyn and Mousehole twinkle on the sea.
After a warm welcome from Helena and a tour of the house we were left to settle in and admire the very generous welcome pack.
All the bedrooms are large with good storage space, comfy and very clean bedding and pillows.Plenty of bathrooms so no quarrelling there!
The lounge is very comfy and the kitchen is well stocked with crockery, cutlery etc and a large fridge-freezer with ice-cube maker and chilled water dispenser
Helena is a very good host and rightly proud of her property. We say a huge thank you and wish her well for the future, and highly recommend this property.

We had a wonderful week in this beautiful home. There was plenty of room for all 7 of us and everything you could possibly ask for was provided. The house is in a wonderful and convenient location and the views of St Michaels mount from the living area was spectacular. We were sad to leave this holiday haven and hope to return again.

We have just returned from a lovely week at this property. It is extremely well appointed with tiles and wooden flooring throughout so perfect for sandy feet and paws! Plenty of room for 6 adults and 2 dogs. The fully enclosed garden was perfect for our football mad Jack Russell and spaniel, no danger of them escaping here. Lovely walks - our favourite was to perranuthnoe in the mornings with a stop for a coffee with a view at the cabin and a stroll on the beach. Walked to the local Chinese restaurant one evening who allowed us to take our dogs in. Lovely meal at the Victoria Inn in perranuthnoe, and the pretty village of goldsithney only 12 mins away. Paddle boarding and snorkelling in marazion, swimming and body boarding at praa sands all beaches where dogs are allowed after 31st August. Thank you for providing such a lovely base for our holiday Helena, and the welcome pack was great too!

We recently stayed here for a week. The house is lovely and the location good to access (by car) other nearby place of interest, local shop, pub and takeaway. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t the best, so we didn’t get to see Cornwall at it finest but we did have a relaxing break.

We had a great week here in Cornwall, the weather couldn't have been better!
Newly built house with everything that you need for your holiday. The hosts were friendly and left a lovely welcome package with Cornish specialties which was a very nice touch. Fabulous views of St Michael's Mount and local beach only 20 minutes walk along the coastal path. The Cabin serve food and drink throughout the day and had just started doing Pizza and salad on Friday evenings which were lovely. There is also Co-op, fish and chip shop and Chinese takeaway close by. We will definitely be coming back.

Fabulous well placed house, view of Michael’s Mount and sea from lounge area. The house is newly built with all mod cons - wifi, Netflix etc, lovely cooker and all essentials such as plates, pots, glasses, washing machine, dishwasher etc which made staying all the more enjoyable. Living area upstairs to take advantage of the view, with beds downstairs. Garden is large with gas bbq (accessed via the side gate). Lovely beach 20mins walk from house and coastal walk directly from house and back (approx 2 hours). Hosts were friendly and welcoming and always on hand if needed. Would highly recommend staying here and we will be back again! Lovely to have met you both.

We had a great stay and really loved having the living accommodation upstairs to take advantage of the beautiful views of St Michaels Mount . Even washing up was not a chore with the amazing view of the sea out of the window .
We found the house had all of the mod cons we could possibly need and great fittings throughout .
We would highly recommend a visit to our friends and to make sure they take the costal path to enjoy all of the fantastic coves and beaches on route to Marazion .
