For some people the closest thing to heaven on earth is a steep walk up a hill, for other's it's jumping out of a plane or sitting in a plastic red chair perched above Old Trafford's half way line. For us though, the only perfect moments are ones spent by the sea. Specifically, moments spent toe-deep in the white sands of one of Cornwall's 300 beaches. Perhaps also in the Summer, when the weather is tropical and the water is Caribbean.
And it's not just us with visions of Cornwall as a heaven on earth. Millions of people flock to Cornwall's cute towns and stellar views every year. Most of them looking for one thing- a beautiful cottage as close as humanly possible to the beach.
Well look no further! This is our guide to our closest Cornwall holiday cottages to the beach, all coming in at a 5-15 minute walk from front door to surf board.
Waves End would be premium cottage material if it was, in fact, a cottage. This is more of a town house style home, with high ceilings, panoramic views of the sea and a hot tub out the back. Waves End is a luxury escape in the heart of St Ives, located just moments from both St Ives and Porthminster Beach.
The property can sleep up to 8, with some room to add cots for small children.

Intimately located in acres of stunning natural beauty, this is our pick of the litter for romance, value and relaxation. Sleeping 2 and providng high chairs and cots, White Dove is a great option for young families available for as little as £59 per night.
White Dove was one of the standouts in our list of Cornwall's most affordable hot tub escapes - and it is still incredible value.
Appletree is a great option for families who dread being bored. This spacious family home-away-from-home sleeps up to 6, is equipt for babies and has a ready-to-go kitchen with all the utensils you could need for a week in the sun. Appletree's private garden has also proven a hit for BBQ's so we recommend trying your hand at one while you're there.
The harbour-side home's real charm is in it's location. Minutes from the sea, bars, restaurants and a smorgsboard of things to do, Appletree House is an unforgettable holiday just waiting to happen.
Puffin Cottage is as beach-side as they come. Located just 1 minute from the water and backing onto one of cornwall's cutest beaches in Portreath, Puffin is the perfect place to take in Cornwall at it's most tropical and picture-esque.
The beautifully decorated living and dining rooms each have their own views of the water. The location is fantastic for those wanting to balance quiet relaxation and a bustling town feel. Portreath is much quieter in the summer than St Ives, but it is similar in it's look and feel. Which is a huge compliment to any town.
