Looking for a traditional Cornish pub that's dog friendly?

When it comes to exploring the stunning landscapes of Cornwall, there's no better way to enjoy your time than with your four-legged friend by your side. We love Cornwall for its warm hospitality and traditional, oldie-worldie pubs, what better way to experience the soul of the coastline than by visiting some of the region's oldest Inn's, steeped in maritime history?

1. The Bush Inn

The Bush Inn, Morwenstow North Cornwall is one of the oldest pubs in Cornwall. The charming 13th-century pub offers visitors an authentic taste of Cornwall's past and often hosts some of the regions best musicians. Soak up the atmosphere and keep warm and cosy by the open fire in Winter - your dogs will love chilling here. In the Summer, the whole family will enjoy the outdoor seating and play area in the beer garden, boasting views of the surrounding countryside. With its thatched roof, whitewashed walls, and low ceilings adorned with shipwreck relics, stepping into The Bush Inn is like taking a step back in time.

2. The Ship Inn

Porthleven is a popular haunt for locals and tourists alike, and the town certainly know how to make your furry friend feel at home. This old pub's prime location near the harbor allows you to witness the dramatic crashing waves while enjoying a selection of real ales. Sitting outside on the tiered decking gives beautiful views over the lively harbour on the North coast. Your pooch will love the fire in the winter, cuddles from the regulars, and making friends with the many furry visitors. The Ship Inn is a true gem, steeped in stories and definitely not to be missed.

3. The Pandora Inn

Located on the tranquil Restronguet Creek, The Pandora Inn is a quintessential Cornish pub exuding charm. Parts of the Inn date back to the 13th Century, with flagstone floors, low-beamed ceilings and thatched roof. The sprawling waterside seating provides a peaceful setting for your dog to stretch their legs while you enjoy the many local ales and mouthwatering dishes from an extensive award winning menu. There are plenty of cosy nooks and corners with secluded areas for you to dine privately. Outside you can eat at tables overlooking the water’s edge, or dine ‘on the water’ itself – seated on the Inn's pontoon.

4. The Sloop Inn

Located waterside on the cobblestones, The Sloop Inn is one of the oldest Inns in Cornwall - dated circa 1312. Wander the endearing little streets of St Ives and pop in for a pint with your furry friends and experience some charming seaside spirit. Though much of the building required extensive renovation in the 1990s, the Inn’s primary bar is miraculously still standing, composed entirely of the original building. Be at the beach playing fetch in less than 5 minutes!
