Quality family time this Easter in Cornwall

As the Easter holidays fast approach, you may be considering a getaway or break in the Spring sunshine with your loved ones. Cornwall provides a beautiful setting to spend quality time together this Easter, with a huge range of activities and events around the coast. Get away to the beautiful countryside and watch as the tranquil landscapes awaken this Spring, with lambs playing, daffodils budding, birds returning from winter migrations, and bluebells and wild garlic flourishing the forest floors and cliffs.

With the return of longer days from the end of March, it’s a magical time to enjoy the peaceful and serene side of Cornwall and witness memorable sunsets, before the beaches pack out in summer.

Here is a list of the top family friendly activities and events on in Cornwall this Easter holiday, time to plan your visit!

1 Visit the Eden Project and witness Spring coming to life within the array of beautiful gardens. There are family friendly Easter-themed workshops, and the more adventurous can take the zip wire adventure over the top of the world-famous tropical biomes too – for a birds eye view of Spring in Cornwall!

2 Meet farmland animals, such as pygmy goats and Cornish black pigs, on a trip to Healey’s cyder farm in Truro. The distillery tours are family friendly too! Cornwall is home to many wildlife parks and sanctuaries, providing close and educational encounters with local species and exotic wildlife. Get involved together in a feeding session!

3 Easter is all about the roast. The 'Lost Suppers' at the Lost Gardens of Heligan are all about reconnecting - between people, the soil, our food and the planet. The 7 course Easter ‘Lost Supper’ is a chance to connect with the family at this unique location, at a special time of year, and celebrate the local and homegrown produce. Feast on the 29th March, pre-booking essential.

4 Visit Dairyland Farm Park in Newquay, another brilliant day out for little ones - sure to be full of cute new fluffy arrivals at this time of year.

5 Visit Padstow for the egg-rolling event of the year. Enter the race on Duke Street by decorating a hard boiled egg! This is a family-fun, fundraising event for the RNLI.

6 Visit Paradise Park in Hayle, an award-winning wildlife sanctuary set in exotic gardens which is well known for its annual Easter challenge. 2024 Easter plans are to be announced, but if tradition is to go by the Easter Golden Egg challenge will be back with a bang through out March and April.

7 Enjoy an afternoon tea at one of the many beautiful gardens or sea side cafes in the county. Jam or cream first though, we will leave that to you to decide as a family! Many national trust gardens and nature reserves, including Trelissick and Trebah, boast café menu’s with seasonal Cornish produce too.

9 Create your own Easter egg hunt, if you prefer to explore the coast and take in the UK’s best beaches at your own pace! Many popular family attractions have organised events, but why not create your own chocolate treat trail?

10 The Valley’s inclusive activities are not to be missed! If you stay at The Valley’s luxury 5* cottages this Easter, you have the added bonus of free on-site activities. You’ll feel at home instantly in these luxurious, self-catering cottages, and you will be able to enjoy the large, open-plan modern kitchen and dining area for a memorable Easter Sunday lunch too. As well as free activities all week, there is a heated indoor pool, large play park, tennis courts and woodlands to explore.

Try archery as a family together while staying at this exclusive, award-winning holiday resort near Falmouth, meet lots of unusual and exotic animals with a special visit from Mark’s Ark, the kids can try morning yoga, and if you just want to relax and go back to basics there are arts and crafts activities and lawn games available. It’s rumoured there may be a visit from the Easter bunny too, and the wildflower woodland pixie’s will be waking up for Spring along the trails!
