Top voted beaches you won't believe are in the UK!

In this blog, we reveal 3 of the most loved beaches in Cornwall, one of which you may not have heard of before now. These top beaches frequently rank highest on lists of the best beaches in the world and the UK.

Nestled along the southwestern tip of England lies a coastal paradise that beckons travellers from across the UK and across the globe, with its romantic, rugged cliffs, golden sands, and azure waters. Cornwall, renowned for its picturesque landscapes and rich maritime heritage, boasts some of the most breathtaking beaches in the United Kingdom, and in this blog we outline those featured in the press that should be a ‘must visit’ on your travel list!

From secluded coves that require a scramble, to expansive sandy bays, convenient yet equally beautiful family and dog friendly spots... what are you waiting for? This list contains only 3, after all! Come and explore Cornwall.

1 Kynance Cove

This year, Lonely Planet featured Kynance Cove in the 100 best beaches in the world list. This Cornish gem on the Lizard Peninsula in the South West of England ‘easily rivals any beach in the Caribbean’. Holiday makers flock here for the crystal blue, turquoise waters and impressive, dramatic rock formations. It is also known as the warmest beach in the UK. Tucked above the cliffs with stunning views sits a lovely beach café/ restaurant. There are little coves with stunning clear waters, perfect for paddle boarding too.

2 Crantock Beach

Crantock Beach in Newquay featured on Condé Nast’s travellers top UK beach list in 2024. This golden stretch of beach sits between pretty sand dunes and instantly transforms you in to another world. With beautiful, clear blue water that runs between picturesque dunes from the mouth of the gannel estuary, creating a swim spot that imitates beautiful Greek islands and the Mediterranean on a sunny day.

3 Lantic Bay

The independent listed Lantic Bay as one of the top 8 secret beaches in the UK. This peaceful beach is owned by the National Trust, and sits between more popular spots Fowey and Polperro. It’s remoteness means it’s a top spot for explorers who like to get off 'the beaten track', those that prefer a quieter beach to relax on. Discussing the creation of the list the Independent wrote: "The summer months are the most attractive time to visit the British coastline, but also the busiest." "With that in mind, we’ve found some UK beaches a little further off the beaten coast path."
